Something I doodled on a placemat during a company lunch at a Macaroni Grill, came out pretty good so I decided to scan and color it.

My friend remarked that watching me draw this looked like "One of those etching machines." That made me feel warm inside.

It's a good skill to learn, but I'd also take the time to learn how to draw and paint in the traditional way also, as the two compliment each other.

I SOMETIMES TRY TO COLOUR MY PICTURES E.G. MY SPIDERMAN PENCIL DRAWING I PHOTOCOPIEDTHEN COLOURED IT AS I DONT WANT TO RISK REWINING MY ORIGIONAL PICTURE AND ALSO GOING ON TO THE FACT THAT THEY COMPLIMENT EACHOTHER I WAS GOING TO DO MIXED MIDEA BY DRAWING A PICTURE TRADITIONALLY THEN ADDING COLOUR A BACKGROUND AND THE FINISHING TOUCHES USING A PEN TABLET BUTANYWAY THANKS 4 THE ADVISE

Dude seriously, the all-caps thing is annoying.

Actually, I used to do the same thing, take a photocopy and color it instead of the original. Thing is if you do it digitally it's far easier.
