Infernal Locusts

A species of large, carnivorous insect which infest the multiple battlefields in Hell. After major battles they often swarm to feed upon the carnage, afterwhich they usually must be culled to keep them under control. Most demons actually consider the hellish insects to be a rare delicacy.

In the book of Revelations the swarm is released upon mankind under the command of Abbadon, lord of the pit. [link]
